Things You Might Be Wondering

1. What is this?
Bravo 344 is an ongoing, public project to create a reference site about the American television series, Tour of Duty, which ran from September 1987 to April 1990 on the network CBS.

2. I bought the Tour of Duty DVDs. What happened to the music?
Craig Blackmore of HUM90 has addressed this here. If you feel like taking action to restore the original licensed artist music, how about signing the petition he started?

3. How can I get the original music?
Visit this page, and if you're still interested, email me, and I will provide you with contact information for someone who is offering VHS or DVD copies of the CBS broadcast with the original soundtrack intact. If you're looking for the soundtrack listing, or want to download some of that music, visit the Music section.

4. How do I contact the cast members?
The Internet Movie Database has agent information for some of the actors. Also check this page on Deborah Hartzog's Tour of Duty Fan Page site. Some of the cast have MySpace pages, as well; here's a partial listing.

5. I haven't seen all the episodes. What happened? How did it end?
Really? Do you really want me to spoil it for you? I suggest getting the DVDs and watching the whole series for yourself; you won't regret having Tour of Duty in your collection, to watch at your own leisure and as many times as you want. If this leaves you with an urge to chat about it, pop by and register to the Forum, and post away in the Episodes thread. Keep an eye on the transcripts, too. Even better, enlist yourself to help out with the transcripts project!

But if you absolutely must know—this instant—check the episode guides and all the other goodies at Tour of Duty Info.

6. What does "Bravo 344" mean and what is that thing at the top there? You know, this thing: favicon
Bravo 344 refers to the name of the unit the characters belong to in the first season of Tour of Duty. Specifically, they are the Second Platoon, Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 44th Infantry Regiment, 196th Light Infantry Brigade. The 44th Infantry Regiment is fictional, but the 196th Light Infantry Brigade is real, and this: favicon is based on the 196th's Brigade's shoulder insignia.

7. What is the meaning of life?
Just kidding.

8. My question hasn't been addressed and I love getting redirected to other places. Any ideas?
Okay, I'm not sure you're wondering that, but here's my chance to tell you to visit the HUM90 and Tour of Duty Fans message boards. The folks who hang out there are very nice. Or of course post here in Forum. We're also very nice.

And if you're still looking for a Tour of Duty fix, see my Links page for more Tour of Duty-related sites.

Cheers,
Erika
