Directed by Taylor Nichols
Starring Darby Stanchfield & Stephen Caffrey

David Mamet’s 1992 play OLEANNA investigates the relationship between power and language as it develops between a male professor on the verge of winning tenure and closing a deal on a house, and his female student, who comes to see him for help with her work. A series of misunderstandings and misinterpretations, all involving gender and power relations, leads to a shocking climax in which no matter where your sympathies lie, you’re wrong.

Taylor Nichols recently directed the world premiere production of the play NORTH BEACH at the Miles Playhouse in Santa Monica, CA. He has also directed one act plays for Los Angeles’s Ensemble Studio Theater and Sunday Funnies Sketch Comedy. Nichols is most known to audiences as an actor having performed in Boy Gets Girl at the Geffen Playhouse, The Lonely Planet with Phillip Anglim and Plunge at Playwrights Horizon in NYC. Stephens found his niche by the looks of things?
He obviously prefers the stage these days over television.
This play sounds really interesting.
And the professor role so perfect for Stephen.
I wish I was able to see it.
I'll just have to sit on my hands and wait for your raving review LOL.

Oh Wow... I'm going to be in Florida with my family from June 29 til July 20... I'm going to run away and pitch up in Malibu. David Mamet is such a good playwright and I would soo love to see Stephen playing a college professor. I work in a teacher-training college and the tutors are all mostly pretty dull, but I am sure Stephen would be fabulous in this role.

Hey Guys
I just borrowed a copy of Stephen's play "Oleanna" from my uni library and I've read it..... a really powerful two-hander between the professor and his female student resulting in a truly shocking climax. Makes me want to see it even more now!!!

Three acts lasting 2h 10m.... Stephen will be on stage all of that time... How challenging is that for any actor? but we all know that he is an OUTSTANDING performer. I hope he gets rave reviews for such a difficult role!!

I agree...the role really is difficult, especially timing that dialogue just right..all that memorizing! Not my cup of tea,but he seems to relish it! Can't wait to hear what everyone has to say about it!

Pfffftttt!!!
Well, there goes my chances of ever being an actress LOL.
I have trouble remembering where I last put my slippers LOL.
I'd have to use the 2 hrs and 10 minutes stage time a little differently to Professor Caffrey.
Id ask the audience a series of probing questions.
In my best professors voice LOL.
And although I surely wont win any acting awards, with a little help from the audience, Id at least find my slippers.
